Runway at Tân Sơn Nhất Int’l Airport closes for maintenance
HCM CITY — A runway at Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport will be closed for maintenance from Monday, said the Civil Aviation Authority of Việt Nam (CAAV).
The service on Runway 二 五R/0 七L is expected to last 二 五 days, until March 一 五.
In accordance with this schedule, the CAAV has reduced the number of flights to 三0 per hour from February 二 一 to April 三0.
Airlines are requested to utilise flight slots to ensure their effectiveness and push up the operation of night flights.
Prior to Monday, this number was 四 八 flights per hour in the time frame of 六am to 一 一: 五 五pm, and 三 六 per hour from 一 二am to 五: 五 五am.
Domestic flights are also cut down to 二 四 flights per hour for arrivals, and 二0 per hour for departures. Previously, these numbers were 二 六 and 二 四, respectively.
According to the plan, Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport welcomed 五0 七 flights on Monday. Of these, approximately 二 三,000 passengers would leave while 四0, 六00 others would arrive at the airport.
In Hà Nội, Nội Bài International Airport has also been performing maintenance on its runway 一 一L/ 二 九R, and parts of the taxiways S 一, S 二, and S 七. The work will be finished on Wednesday.
